ST. PETERSBURG, October 21. /TASS/. Russia and the United States are interacting in the situation with the sale of overseas assets of Russian oil major Lukoil, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on the air with Channel One television.
"Indeed, communications are underway in this regard, between Russia and the United States. The license in this case can be renewed without any difficulty," he said, responding to a question about the term for the license of the US Treasury Department that exempts talks on the sale of such asset from US sanctions.
"This is a commercial deal, it cannot be discussed publicly," the Kremlin Spokesperson added, responding to a question about a potential buyer.
The US Department of Treasury extended the license exempting talks on the sale of Lukoil’s assets from sanctions until November 21. The updated document was posted on the website of the US Office of Foreign Assets Control.
