TEHRAN, October 28. /TASS/. Iran continues to give diplomacy a chance to succeed, while its armed forces remain fully prepared to defend the country, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said.

"While our Brave Armed Forces are fully prepared to defend the Homeland, Iran continues to give diplomacy a chance to succeed. We remain in close and ongoing contact with intermediaries to review ideas that can ensure implementation of our 7-Day Plan in even less than a week," he wrote on X.

In September, Araghchi said Tehran had proposed a seven-day plan to Washington to halt hostilities, reopen the Strait of Hormuz and launch comprehensive negotiations on Iran’s nuclear program. According to Araghchi, the terms were close to those of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US, which led to a brief ceasefire that ultimately collapsed in early July.
