A mystery in the waters off the Ragusa coast, where a motorboat broke down not far from the shore of Casuzze, a hamlet of Santa Croce Camerina, apparently after running out of fuel. None of those on board called for help: a couple of passengers managed to reach the shore, while another remained on board the vessel. Alerted by passers-by, a Coast Guard patrol boat arrived on the scene. Upon seeing the military personnel approaching, several sealed packages containing almost half a million euros were thrown overboard from the motorboat, which is suspected to have come from Malta. The money was recovered by the Coast Guard with the help of some beachgoers. The Public Prosecutor's Office in Ragusa has opened an investigation into the matter.
