Italy beat Cuba 3-1 in Osaka, Japan, in the final group stage match of the volleyball Nations League, thus qualifying for the competition's Final Eight. The national team coached by Ferdinando De Giorgi came from behind to win with a score of 17-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-17.
The tournament finals are scheduled in Ningbo, China, from July 29 to August 2, and with the host nation qualifying automatically, seven spots were available for participation, a result the Azzurri secured mathematically with today's victory. Their record across the 12 group stage matches stands at eight wins and four defeats.
