MOSCOW, October 2. /TASS/. The escalation with Pakistan will be discussed at a meeting of the Moscow format of consultations on Afghanistan on October 5, Russian Presidential Special Representative for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov said.

"Of course, this issue will certainly be raised, and we will be happy to use the Moscow platform to help both conflicting parties reach some reasonable compromises," he told Izvestia.

Kabulov noted that Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi will participate in the meeting. "Pakistan will be represented by its special representative for Afghanistan, who will be accompanied by Pakistan’s ambassador to Kabul and several other senior officials dealing with foreign policy issues," he added.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said the eighth meeting would be held in Moscow on October 5. It will bring together special representatives and senior officials from Afghanistan, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Russia. Delegations from Belarus and Egypt have been invited as guests. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will address the participants with opening remarks.
