The Council of Ministers, as reported, will meet this afternoon at 5:30 PM to approve the stopgap measure against high fuel costs that the government has been working on for days. The decree-law is expected to intervene in particular on the cost of diesel. Subsequently, in light of the data on the extra VAT revenue for July, a second intervention is expected using the sliding excise duty mechanism.
