Subsonica in concert in Ancona opened the five musical events on the programme for the "Arena in città" festival in Ancona. The Turin-based band was the first to take the stage set up in Piazza Cavour, welcomed by over 2,000 people, for the leg of the "Terre rare" tour celebrating the group's 30th anniversary. Many sang along to old and new hits by the band such as "Tutti i miei sbagli", "Nuova ossessione", "Strade", as well as songs from their latest album, including "Radio Mogadiscio".
A concert featuring over 20 songs that captured the interest of those present, a packed square, for this first live show of the five planned until next 8 August in the heart of Ancona: Francesco Gabbani (29 July), Grupo Compay Segundo De Buena Vista Social Club (30 July), Emma (1 August) and Fabio Concato (8 August).
Many people along the city's main streets or in the immediate vicinity of Piazza Cavour were able to listen to the concert. As highlighted by the councillor for Major Events Angelo Eliantonio, "the organisation of concerts and public events contributes to promoting the city's image, increasing its attractiveness and supporting local commercial activities", recalling the extended opening of 25 shops. The goal set for these five dates is to reach more than 10,000 paying spectators in total.
"The city," Eliantonio concluded, "is getting used to changing its mindset and is ready to welcome thousands of visitors and new opportunities — this is an objective fact."
