Amorim's Milan adventure begins in Australia. The Rossoneri squad has departed for Perth, where they will begin their long summer tour and friendlies against European giants. Mario Gila also travelled with the team after undergoing medical tests in the morning to assess the extent of the physical problem he suffered in Saturday's friendly against Celtic.

Pulisic and Gimenez, meanwhile, will remain at Milanello — where they are expected back on 29 July — as they continue their respective recoveries from injuries sustained during the World Cup. Most of the international players will instead join the squad directly in Perth, among them Rafael Leão, who continues to be a major figure in transfer talks, with Feyenoord remaining interested in the Portuguese winger. Amorim will have the opportunity to get to know his available players better and assess the state of affairs in matches such as the derby, the clash with Chelsea, and the one against Manchester United — a fixture that will not leave the manager indifferent, as he will face his former club.
