Gerardina Trovato was ready to reclaim the stage, driven by the rediscovered affection of her fans and the support of her manager and friend, but in a video posted on her Instagram profile she sadly recounts having to postpone her return to performing because she must undergo a throat operation; she is worn out and thinner, but she is not giving up, confident that she will return to singing for her fans.
"I was happy. After such a long, long time, I would have returned to Sicily and other regions of Italy. There was such tremendous warmth. But during rehearsals I felt pain..." Gerardina Trovato recounts in her story how, suddenly, during rehearsals, she experienced that unexpected pain. "I thought a good night's sleep would be enough, a day or two of rest at most, and then off we go. There was the illusion of being able to start again right away." But a visit to an ear, nose and throat specialist changed the picture, leading the singer-songwriter from Catania to undergo thorough examinations, including a contrast CT scan. Gerardina Trovato explained that a cyst was found which will need to be removed, and that they will also need to operate on her vocal cords. "The only thing I tell myself and tell you, and I guarantee it, is that I will return to singing as soon as possible, and if not better than before, exactly as before. Say a little prayer for me, I love you all to pieces."
