Mumbai: Kurar police senior inspector Sushil Kumar Gaikwad died after suffering a cardiac arrest in an official police vehicle while travelling to work on Tuesday morning.
Officials said Gaikwad, who was in his mid-50s, complained of uneasiness and had collapsed by the time the vehicle reached the police station. Colleagues rushed him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Gaikwad had taken charge of Kurar police station in July.
His colleagues said they had last spoken to him on Monday night and he was “feeling fine”.
