After the cold reception from Giuseppe Conte and Angelo Bonelli, Nicola Fratoianni also weighs in on Elly Schlein's letter on energy sent to Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. "Elly Schlein chose to put forward proposals on behalf of the PD, that is legitimate," comments the AVS representative. "I believe there is little room for collaboration with this government given the choices it has made and continues to make, which are devoid of any prospect." He added: "This is a country that would need to reinvigorate its investments in the research sector, but on this there is no trace of any initiative from a government that on the issue of energy and climate is dominated by climate indifference."

According to Action leader Carlo Calenda, however, "Schlein did something good, she told Meloni let's work together on energy. We have been doing that for a year, it's the work of the opposition. Instead she was attacked, rather than being told: well done, you did something useful."

From the government side, Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani weighed in on the PD secretary's letter: "We are always open to dialogue, it seems to me that the left never wants to engage in dialogue. The letter from the secretary of the Democratic Party is a letter that can be carefully examined. If there are positive elements, why not?"
