An 18-year-old worker died early this morning in a workplace accident at the waste storage and treatment facility in the locality of S'Infurcau, in the territory of Oniferi (Nuoro).
The circumstances of the accident are not yet clear. According to initial reports, Fabrizio Pittalis, originally from Orotelli, was struck on the head by the forks of a forklift being operated by a colleague. By the time emergency medical responders arrived, there was nothing more that could be done for the young man. The accident is being investigated by the Carabinieri of Ottana and inspectors from the Spresal of the Nuoro Local Health Authority.
