DUSHANBE, October 27. /TASS/. Trade volume between Russia and other CIS countries has exceeded $110 bln and is actively growing, Semyon Grigoryev, the Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan, said at the international scientific and practical conference "CIS: Directions and Prospects of Development" opened in Dushanbe.

"We attach particular importance to the close cooperation supported within the Commonwealth in the fields of trade, investment, and high technology. The annual [trade] turnover between Russia and the CIS countries is significant - it is above $110 bln and is growing at double-digit percentage rates," he said.

Trade within the CIS is stable and mutually beneficial, the ambassador said. "Up to 90% of settlements are carried out in national currencies. Large industrial projects are being implemented, and the transcontinental logistics corridors North-South and East-West are being modernized and developed," Grigoryev stressed.

The CIS countries have established mechanisms of multilateral cooperation that are reliable, flexible, and adaptive to current realities, which cover an increasing number of relevant fields of activity, the Russian diplomat added.
