PATNA: Bhojpuri actors-turned-politicians and BJP MPs
Manoj Tiwari and Ravi Kishan on Monday expressed concern over the firing incident in Mumbai in which Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff sustained injuries. Both leaders expressed confidence that those responsible would face justice.
Tiwari, who represents North East Delhi in the Lok Sabha, described the attack as a matter of serious concern while speaking to reporters. He also criticised a police officer for using the honorific "sahib" for jailed gangster
Lawrence Bishnoi when asked about speculation regarding his alleged involvement in the attack.
"This is not appropriate. Such words must not be used for a person who is suspected of involvement in a grave offence. Criminals must be given the treatment they deserve," Tiwari said.
Ravi Kishan, the BJP MP from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh, also expressed concern over the incident upon arriving at the airport. He wished Shroff a speedy recovery and said those responsible would not be spared.
He replied, "It is a very disturbing incident. I pray for the speedy recovery of Tiger Shroff, who is a sweet person. The guilty will not be spared."
Meanwhile, three people allegedly involved in the firing at Shroff were arrested from a train at Rajasthan's Kota railway station on Monday following a 15-minute operation. They were suspected to be travelling from Mumbai towards Nepal.
The accused, including Ritik alias Roshan from Bihar's Begusarai and Rehan from Haryana's Sonipat, were apprehended from the general coach of the Pune-Jaipur Superfast Express when the train halted at Kota at 10.17 am, Kota Superintendent of Police Tejaswani Gautam said.
