UK deports Romanian convicted of arson at ex-PM Starmer’s homes

The court found that the men had acted on the orders of a Russian-speaking contact on Telegram

Britain has deported a Romanian man jailed for two years in June for arson attacks on two properties linked to then British prime minister Keir Starmer, the interior ministry said Saturday.

Ukraine-born Stanislav Carpiuc was found guilty of the attacks alongside Ukrainian citizen Roman Lavrynovych, who was jailed for seven years over the May 2025 attacks on two London houses and a vehicle.

“This individual has now been deported from the UK,” a Home Office spokesperson said, without indicating the country to which Carpiuc was being expelled.

“This was an abhorrent attack and the conviction and imprisonment of these men should send a clear message to anyone blinded by the promise of money from strangers. You will be caught and face severe consequences,” the spokesperson added.
