"The conference of parliamentary group leaders has established that the general debate on the new electoral law will begin on Monday, September 28, and most likely a final vote will be reached in the first week of October." This was announced by Minister for Relations with Parliament Luca Ciriani on the sidelines of the fourth edition of the 'Risorsa Mare' forum, organised by Teha Group in collaboration with the Ministry for Maritime Policy at the auditorium of the Eastern Ligurian Sea Port System Authority in La Spezia.
"The decision to call a confidence vote is a choice made by the government, naturally in the first instance by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni — it is not a choice that could be made individually," Ciriani commented. "It stems from the fact that we are facing a very important turning point for the government's work, so each of us must take responsibility for the loyalty of a vote in favour of an innovative electoral law that finally guarantees every citizen the ability to vote for a coalition, for a programme and for a leader, and finally, after more than thirty years, to also choose their own candidate to be elected to Parliament."
