NEW YORK, September 19. /TASS/. US Ambassador to the UN Mike Waltz confirmed that US leader Donald Trump plans to meet with Venezuelan acting President Delcy Rodriguez on the sidelines of the 81st session of the UN General Assembly, the Associated Press reported on Friday.

According to Waltz, the meeting will be a casual "pull-aside" conversation rather than a formal bilateral negotiation.

In addition, Trump intends to hold talks with the prime ministers of the United Kingdom and Japan, the US envoy noted. The US President is also expected to meet with leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), which includes Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia.

The high-level General Debate involving heads of state, government, and foreign ministers will take place at the UN headquarters in New York on September 22-26 and September 28. The Russian delegation to the session will be led by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
