The South American Games Santa Fe 2026 are already underway and, with the start of the competitions, the race to claim the top spot in the medal table has also begun. More than 4,000 athletes from 15 countries are participating in the thirteenth edition of the major continental event, which kicked off this Saturday, September 12 and will run through Saturday the 26th, with Rosario, Santa Fe and Rafaela as the main host cities. Argentina will look to take advantage of home turf to compete for the top positions in a standings table that will be updated day by day as gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded.
The competition includes 43 sports and 60 disciplines, and also carries an extra incentive on the road to the next Olympic cycle: 26 disciplines will award qualification spots for the 2027 Lima Pan American Games.
