HK Electric to cut fuel charge for first time in 4 months as CLP raises rate

Customers of HK Electric are set to pay less for electricity after it cut its fuel charge for the first time in four months

HK Electric, which mainly supplies Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island, said on Friday that its fuel clause charge would fall by 1.4 HK cents to 59.3 cents per kilowatt hour (kWh) in October.

The charge, a component of the overall tariff, is adjusted monthly to reflect the actual cost of fuel used for power generation.
