Mumbai: The Thackeray cousins Uddhav and Raj announced that the public rally slated for 10 am on Sunday will go ahead as a victory march to congratulate the student movement whose agitation led to the resignation of Union education minister
Dharmendra Pradhan.
They had on Friday announced a Tiranga morcha for the public from Shivaji Park to Siddhivinayak temple from 10 am on Sunday.

Uddhav said the youth had helped the country shed the cloud of fear enveloping the country.

“Our country is uneasy. In the last 12 years, the Centre has pressured people with things like notebandi. They behaved like there are no people left in the country -- only cockroaches.”
“The youth have shown the Centre that the spark of revolution is still burning. They have revealed their power and what they can achieve by coming together,” said Uddhav, who has been an early supporter of both Sonam Wangchuk and Abhijeet Dipke.
He said Union home minister Amit Shah needed to explain why the Delhi police had used violence on the agitating youth. “Who gave the police orders to use pellet guns and conduct a lathi-charge? Why were there people in civilian clothes with lathis?” asked Uddhav. He demanded action against the Delhi police.
Raj Thackeray said the anger of students had transferred from Pradhan to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “We will continue to support Dipke and so will the student community,” he said.
When asked about chief minister Devendra Fadnavis’ trip to Delhi, Raj said, “Fadnavis and (Dy CM Eknath) Shinde are always in a race to visit Delhi.”
