A workplace accident occurred this morning in Altavilla Vicentina (Vicenza) in front of the "Pittarello" store, where the basket of a small crane fell, causing two workers, one aged 55 and the other 47, to fall to the ground from a height of five metres.
The accident happened at around 10:30. According to initial reports, the platform on which the two men were standing may have given way, possibly due to a technical malfunction, causing them to fall to the ground.
Emergency services Suem 118 attended the scene and stabilised the two workers, who were then hospitalised in critical condition (red code) at the San Bortolo hospital in Vicenza. The Carabinieri and Spisal also attended the scene to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
