MILWAUKEE /Wisconsin/, October 1. /TASS/. Russia maintains an open economy despite all Western sanctions and other restrictions, finds new trading partners, and grows stronger, Economic Development Minister Maksim Reshetnikov told reporters on the sidelines of the G20 Trade Ministers' meeting taking place in Milwaukee between September 30 and October 1.

Commenting on current global trade and economic tensions, he expressed confidence that common rules of the game are required. "Rules are needed for global growth, rules are needed so that the least developed countries can develop more actively and also help shape the market," the minister said.

"Facing such pressure of sanctions <…> Russia has maintained an open economy, restructured its foreign economic ties, and found new partners. Thanks to this, we are going through the situation, growing stronger, and possess the resources for development," he noted.
