A small step forward for Fratelli d'Italia and a small step back for the PD. The first and second parties in Italy broadly confirm last week's polls. This is what emerges from the Swg survey for Tg La7 on September 21, showing voting intentions in the event of an election.
Compared to the last survey, Fratelli d'Italia gains 0.1% and reaches 27.1%. The party led by Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni confirms its position as the leading party and widens its lead over the PD of secretary Elly Schlein, which loses 0.1% and falls to 20.8%. A step forward for Giuseppe Conte's Movimento 5 Stelle, which grows by 0.2% and now stands at 12.8%. Vannacci's Futuro Nazionale continues its rise, moving from 7.9% to a full 8% and confirming itself as the fourth force on the political chessboard. The margin over Forza Italia remains unchanged, as the party led by Antonio Tajani moves from 6.9% to 7%.
A step back for Verdi e Sinistra, which loses 0.2% and falls to 6.5%. Matteo Salvini's Lega also loses ground, in the week of Pontida shedding 0.2% and slipping to 5.3%. Further behind are Carlo Calenda's Azione (3.1%), Matteo Renzi's Italia Viva (2.4%), +Europa (1.5%), Noi Moderati (1%) and Avanti Psi (1%).
