Tourists survive 'scary' buffalo attack on popular Northern Territory hiking trail

A tourist has been lucky to escape with only minor injuries after being attacked by a feral buffalo in Nitmiluk National Park, 300km south of Darwin.
Victorian woman Emma Hipwell, 21, was hiking the trail to Butterfly Gorge with her partner on Monday when the buffalo charged at them twice.

While such incidents are rare, NT Parks and Wildlife advised people to stay calm and back away slowly if they encounter a wild buffalo.
