And history deserves respect": on his social media profiles, Claudio Marchisio took a stance following the incident that occurred at the Allianz Stadium, when a group of Juventus supporters failed to observe the minute of silence held in memory of the late champion.
"I owe Juventus and its fans an enormous part of my life, I know how much love, passion and respect lie behind that shirt, and it is precisely for this reason that I believe it is right to say, without hesitation, that gestures like yesterday's should not happen," the former Bianconeri player added on Instagram, posting a childhood photo of Mazzola with his father Valentino, captain of the Grande Torino. "Rivalry is passion, belonging, pride. But it can never erase respect. For the man, for the champion, for everything that Sandro represented for Italian football. And yesterday, in the stadium and at home, the voice of so many people was that of applause. This is what sport must do in these moments. Unite."
