Last night, a 39-year-old man from Forio d'Ischia died from injuries sustained in a road accident.
According to a preliminary reconstruction that has yet to be verified, the man was riding a motorcycle and collided with an e-bike coming from the opposite direction.
The incident occurred on Via Provinciale Panza. Carabinieri from the Forio station and officers from the operational and mobile radio unit of Ischia responded to the scene.
The 39-year-old was transported by ambulance to the Rizzoli Hospital in Lacco Ameno, where he died from his injuries.
The 21-year-old cyclist was taken to the same hospital but is not in life-threatening condition.
The motorcycle has been seized and the body placed at the disposal of the judicial authority for an autopsy. Investigations are ongoing to clarify the dynamics of the accident.
On Friday, a 17-year-old girl died at the Cardarelli Hospital in Naples. The student, on 7 September, was crossing at a pedestrian crossing on Corso Secondigliano in Naples when she was struck by a car whose driver had stopped to attempt to assist her. After 11 days of hospitalisation, she died from the severe injuries she had sustained.
