MOSCOW, October 20. /TASS/. Further escalation of tensions surrounding Cuba could destabilize the entire Latin American region, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement commenting on the US issuance of a state arrest warrant for Cuba’s historical leader Army General Raul Castro.
"We would like to emphasize that further escalation of the situation around the Island of Freedom, which is already going through tough times due to the unprecedented trade, economic, financial and energy blockade, could lead to instability across all of Latin America and the Caribbean. If a social explosion erupts in Cuba, people could begin migrating en masse to neighboring countries, risking a social crisis there," the statement reads.
