Artem Tkachuk, the 25-year-old Italian-Ukrainian actor who plays "Pino o' pazzo" in the TV series "Mare Fuori," has been sentenced to one year in prison for aggravated vandalism of four cars. The incident led to his arrest by police in Rho (Milan), in the area of Via Molino Prepositurale, during the night of May 20th to 21st. The arrest was validated, but no precautionary measure was applied against him. The sentence was handed down through an expedited trial by judge Amelia Managò, who also sentenced three other young men aged 18, 22, and 24 who were with the actor that night to the same penalty. The judge granted all defendants, including the actor, a suspended sentence and non-disclosure of the conviction in their criminal records, but only if they "remedy the consequences" of the crime within six months, meaning they must pay compensation for the damages.
According to the charges, the four individuals allegedly kicked the parked cars. Following the arrest, it emerged that when police arrived, Tkachuk had also insulted and threatened the officers, so that in addition to the vandalism charge in the closed-door trial, he was also reported in a separate file for threatening a public official for statements he allegedly made such as "I'll smash you" and "I can buy you all." During the arrest validation hearing, the actor had apologized for that behavior. Today, the defense teams — attorney Maria Grazia Padula, representing the actor and another defendant, and lawyer Alessia Pontenani, defending the other two — had sought acquittals, while the Prosecution had requested four convictions of 8 months each. In particular, the defense of two defendants, represented by lawyer Pontenani, pointed out that they had only met the actor that same night, with a selfie taken with him as evidence of this. According to the defense lawyers, it was essentially not the four of them who broke the mirrors and bumpers of the cars, given that they had been arrested on a different street.
