NRL set to axe referee Ashley Klein after controversial semifinal ending

NRL referee Ashley Klein is reportedly set to be sidelined from this weekend's preliminary final matches following a controversial ending to Sunday's semifinal between the Knights and Warriors.
NRL officials confirmed on Monday the Warriors should have been awarded a penalty with a minute left in Sunday's Eden Park thriller, and the chance to send the match to extra time, for an escort infringement by the Knights' Tyson Frizell.
What's next?
It is believed Klein will pay for the error by losing his spot in the preliminary finals, with Grant Atkins or Gerard Sutton likely to be called up.
