MOSCOW, October 20. /TASS/. It is planned to increase cargo handling volumes at Far Eastern ports from 180 to 300 mln tons, said Primorsky Region Governor Oleg Kozhemyako who is also a candidate for the position of deputy prime minister and presidential plenipotentiary envoy to Russia’s Far Eastern Federal District.
"Our goal is to bring cargo handling volumes to 300 mln tons from 180 [mln tons], which will surely create opportunities for opening channels for supplies of both grain from Russia’s central regions and coal to our ports. Those also include container shipments passing through countries in the Asia-Pacific region," he said at a meeting of the State Duma Committee on Development of Far East and Arctic.
