Mumbai: Goregaon police have registered an FIR against the driver of a bus belonging to a private company for ramming into a pedestrian and injuring him grievously. The pedestrian, around 55 to 60 years of age, has been admitted to the ICCU after losing consciousness. His identity has not been determined.

The crash occurred on September 6 near Ratna restaurant at Goregaon West. The victim was crossing the road at 11pm when the bus hit him from the front. The bus was moving from MTNL Junction towards

Ram Mandir at the time.

The bus driver, Vijayprakash Gupta, took the injured pedestrian to Trauma Care Hospital and left. Later, doctors referred him to

Sion Hospital. He has suffered injuries to his head, eyes, nose, fingers and face. Police went to the hospital to record his statement, but doctors said he had still not gained consciousness.

An FIR has been registered against Gupta for rash driving.
