MUMBAI: A 19-year-old man, Mohd Ehsan Sheikh, allegedly killed his 19-year-old wife, Jannat Ehsan Sheikh, by slitting her throat with a kitchen knife at around 5am on Friday, police said.
The accused subsequently slit his own throat with the same weapon, police said. Both the husband and wife were daily wage labourers.
Police said Sheikh died during treatment at Nair Hospital. A case of murder is being registered, while an accidental death report (ADR) is being registered in connection with the husband's death.
According to police, the incident was the result of a domestic dispute.
