MOSCOW, October 30. /TASS/. World hockey cannot be considered complete without Russian players, and the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has made the right decision, Dmitry Svishchev, a member of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture and Sports, has told TASS.
Earlier, CAS ordered the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) to allow Russian national teams to compete in international tournaments.
"Now it is important that the IIHF does not resist the ruling, but begins implementing the court’s decision," Svishchev said. "Our athletes must be able to participate in all tournaments organized by the IIHF, and the federation must respond promptly and effectively to any potential visa-related issues.
"Clearly, hockey cannot be imagined without our players. Now we are returning, and we hope the ruling will be implemented without delay. We can see that the legal efforts of the Russian Olympic Committee and the various sports federations are producing results.".
