The 21st and final stage of the Tour de France, with the classic finish on the Champs-Élysées, has been shortened to ease the workload of emergency services mobilized to deal with wildfires, particularly in the Gironde. The organizers of ASO and the police prefecture announced that the stage route has been reduced to 89 km, compared to the 133 km originally planned: after the team presentation in Thoiry, where the stage start was supposed to take place, the riders will travel directly by bus to the final circuit in Paris, where they will set off from the finish line at 5:50 p.m. The peloton will complete two additional laps on the Champs-Élysées before heading to the Montmartre circuit for a finish scheduled at 7:45 p.m.
