The Civil Police arrested on Wednesday (22) a 56-year-old woman suspected of having ordered the murder of her husband, a civil police officer.
She was arrested by agents from the GOE (Special Operations Group) in Guarulhos, in Greater São Paulo, as she was preparing to flee, according to police.
The crime occurred in January 2025 in São Miguel Paulista, in the eastern zone of São Paulo. The officer was at a commercial establishment when two men entered the premises and fired multiple shots at him.
The suspects were identified and arrested.
The woman had been pointed to as a suspect in the murder since the beginning of the investigations, according to GOE delegate Douglas Torres. She was even detained at the time of the crime but was released due to insufficient evidence at the time.
Teams from the 7th Sectional Police Station continued the investigation and gathered evidence for a new arrest warrant request to the courts. The inquiry, according to police, indicated that the suspect had hired the shooters to kill her husband.
After the arrest warrant was issued, agents discovered that the suspect was planning to leave the area. She was located and arrested before she could flee.
"The body of evidence in the case always pointed to the involvement of more people, among them the officer's own wife," said the delegate.
The case was registered as the apprehension of a wanted person at the 4th Police District of Guarulhos.
