A head-on collision with a truck in Kenya has claimed the life of an Italian tourist, Sidney Serpetri, a 52-year-old woman from Florence. According to initial reports provided to ANSA, the woman was travelling with her husband and son from Mombasa to Malindi. The impact with the vehicle coming from the opposite lane proved fatal. The Kenyan driver also died in the crash, while the husband and son, admitted to hospital in Mombasa, are not in serious condition. The Italian Embassy in Nairobi immediately took action to provide all possible assistance and is following the situation, in contact with the family and with the hospital where the two Italian nationals are being treated.
