Sarah Rizea, 18, an athlete with the Fiamme Oro of Romanian origin who has made Savona her adopted home, is the new Miss Italia 2026. The announcement came at the Castello di Santa Severa, where she claimed the national title having reached the final wearing the Miss Liguria sash.
"Sarah is not only the new Miss Italia, she is one of our own: a 'synchrette' who grew up in the discipline and silent sacrifices that artistic swimming demands every day," said Alessandro Martin, president of FIN Liguria. "The grace and strength she displayed on stage are the same qualities built competition after competition, breath after breath, away from the spotlight."
"Sarah represents talent, commitment and determination," said regional tourism councillor Lombardi, "qualities she has also developed through sport and the sacrifices required by high-level competitive activity."
