A woman was arrested this Friday (18th) on suspicion of attempting to enter the Romero Nóbrega Regional Standard Prison, in Patos, in the hinterland of Paraíba, with 90 grams of marijuana hidden inside eggs.

According to the Seap (State Secretariat of Penitentiary Administration), the woman was carrying the food for a visit to the facility when a penal officer grew suspicious of the eggs presented during the search. Upon closer inspection, the officer found the substance inside the shells.

Images released by the secretariat show the broken eggs and the substance hidden inside them.

The greenish-colored material was seized before reaching the internal areas of the prison. The visitor was arrested in flagrante delicto and handed over for legal proceedings. The woman's name was not disclosed.

At the time of publication, there was no information regarding the identity of the inmate who was to receive the eggs.

The Seap reported that the substance will be submitted for analysis to officially confirm its composition.

The seizure occurred during the inspection procedure for food brought by visitors to the prison. The search is carried out before access to the facility and aims to prevent the entry of drugs and other prohibited materials.
