"It wasn't easy to beat Cuba. They are one of the most talented teams, with technically very strong players. From this point of view, it was a very positive test." These were the words of Italy volleyball head coach Ferdinando De Giorgi, following the eighth victory in the Nations League which qualifies the Azzurri for the Final Eight in China, starting on July 29.
"Ideally, we played this last match with all the players who took part in these three weeks of the tournament. We used 24 players, and therefore reaching this final was the result of a collective effort from everyone," the coach continued. "Today we needed to achieve our objectives and secure our position in the standings, and we managed to do so."
