VIENNA, October 14. /TASS/. Kiev attacked ships in the Azov-Black Sea region 214 times in 2026 compared to a total of 228 since the start of the special military operation, said Yulia Zhdanova, head of the Russian delegation at the negotiations in Vienna on military security and arms control.
"Let me remind you that with the direct support of Western states in June-August Kiev attempted to block economic activity in the Azov-Black Sea region. Guided by the tactic of total destruction of vessels carrying oil, petroleum products, and food, Kiev sought to paralyze commercial shipping and food exports. In 2026, 214 such incidents were recorded - out of 228 since the start of the special military operation. Twenty·eight crew died," she told a meeting of the OSCE Forum for Security Cooperation. Her statement is available to TASS.
According to Zhdanova, this year’s incidents included seven major attacks on tankers carrying Kazakh oil transported via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium.
The diplomat also said that on July 8, Ukraine struck a Chevron vessel.
