Tasmania's fire service has issued bushfire alerts for several areas as wind gusts make conditions difficult for fire crews.
As of 4pm, seven warnings were active, with people in affected areas urged to stay updated with the latest advice from authorities.
It comes as the TFS warned earlier in the week that areas of Tasmania would face an elevated fire danger due to a combination of high temperatures, dry air and windy conditions.
As of Sunday afternoon, the following warnings are in place:
- Watch and Act - Yarlington Road, Colebrook
- Watch and Act - Seven Mile Beach
- Beware of ember attacks - Lewisham, Dodges Ferry and Carlton
- Monitor conditions - Mud Walls Road, Colebrook
- Avoid smoke - Franklin
- Avoid smoke - Dodges Ferry, Carlton, Seven Mile Beach
Fire crews were also in attendance at a vegetation fire at Franklin, in Hobart's south, where a smoke alert message was issued for the Huon Highway south of Franklin to Braeside Road.
