Drone Attacks in Two Waves: Deaths After Strike on Ukrainian Shopping Center
Russia has attacked a busy shopping center in the hometown of the Ukrainian president. There are many dead and injured. Zelensky describes it as a "treacherous attack" carried out in two waves.
Russia has struck a busy shopping center in southeastern Ukraine. At least six people were killed in the major city of Kryvyi Rih, according to the military governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Oleksandr Hnysha.
More than 90 people were reportedly injured. Twenty-one individuals suffered critical injuries, including a child.
Zelensky: "Cynical, Treacherous Attack"
President Volodymyr Zelensky described the incident in a Facebook post as an "absolutely cynical and treacherous attack on an ordinary shopping center." According to him, Russia struck with drones in two waves. "Half an hour after the first impact and the outbreak of a fire, there was a renewed attack on the rescue workers," he said. "Such attacks are simply acts of terrorism."
The world must respond accordingly — with real pressure on the aggressor. "For peace to prevail, Russia must genuinely be held accountable."
Attack on Kryvyi Rih Just Days Ago
Zelensky's hometown is located approximately 350 kilometers southeast of the capital Kyiv. Just days ago, Kryvyi Rih was attacked by the Russian military using combat drones and ballistic missiles. According to official reports, two civilians were killed and several people were injured in that attack.
Russia has been waging a war of aggression against Ukraine for nearly four and a half years. In recent months, the Russian military has increasingly been targeting civilian sites in the neighboring country.
