Four foreign-national antagonists, likely belonging to the so-called Black Bloc, were detained in recent hours by investigators from the State Police at the Turin Police Headquarters, who are working to identify those responsible for the violence that took place on Saturday afternoon at the TAV construction sites in the Susa Valley. This was learned from informed sources. Their positions are under scrutiny by investigators and the charges are not yet known. The investigations into Saturday's events, coordinated by the Turin Prosecutor's Office led by Giovanni Bombardieri, are currently considering the charge of devastation, though it is not ruled out that additional charges may subsequently be brought against individuals.
Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi are conducting an on-site inspection in the Susa Valley, following Saturday's No TAV attacks on the construction sites of the future high-speed railway line. Meloni and Piantedosi arrived at Turin Caselle Airport, from where they are travelling to the valley by helicopter. Awaiting them on site are the Chief of Police, Vittorio Pisani, along with the Turin Police Chief, Massimo Gambino, and the Prefect of the Piedmontese capital, Donato Cafagna.
The Chief of Police, Vittorio Pisani, arrived this morning at Caselle Torinese Airport and is heading to the Susa Valley, where the TAV construction sites were attacked on Saturday. Pisani is accompanied by the Turin Police Chief, Massimo Gambino, and Prefect Donato Cafagna. They will conduct a joint on-site inspection.
Since this morning, law enforcement agencies have been carrying out enhanced checks on the roads of the Susa Valley, in the Turin area, and in the areas surrounding the campsite organised as part of the Festival dell'Alta Felicità, promoted by the No TAV movement and now in its tenth edition. According to information obtained, approximately one thousand people are still present at the campsite. Investigators looking into the unrest that broke out on Saturday during the attacks on the TAV construction sites do not rule out that among those present at the camp there may be antagonists belonging to the so-called Black Bloc who took part in the violence. Law enforcement checks cover the entire road network.
