MOSCOW, September 30. /TASS/. Russians started booking tours "at the very last second" to safeguard themselves from contingencies, Maya Lomidze, the Executive Director of the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), said during a press conference at TASS.
"Tour operators say that our bookings are not just last-minute, but last-second. Accordingly, all the sales are structured in a way to maintain the price. There is no point in waiting for special offers," she said.
The expert noted that consumer behavior has changed in Russia. Tourists closely monitor market conditions and the global situation. "They absolutely do not want to end up in the situation that several thousand of our citizens encountered in June, when they had to wait for refunds, make rebooking, and so on," Lomidze added.
One more trend of the past summer was the demand for organized tours with accommodation in guest houses or unrated hotels, the expert said.
