The ABC has withdrawn the Four Corners programs Meth Highway and Cocaine Nation by sacked reporter Mahmood Fazal due to concerns about accuracy.

"This action has been taken following concerns identified about the veracity of certain sources used in both programs," a statement from ABC management said.

The ABC conducted an investigation into Fazal after his appearance on a podcast with a former underworld figure last year.

The statement said the decision to remove the Four Corners programs was separate to the investigation following Fazal’s appearance on the podcast.

ABC Managing Director Hugh Marks told a Senate estimates hearing in May that Fazal was "terminated" after the investigation finished.
