WASHINGTON, July 29. /TASS/. Vladimir Zelensky has appealed to US President Donald Trump with a request to provide Ukraine with 300 interceptor missiles for Patriot systems by winter, he said in an interview with the Axios portal.
As the portal noted, this request is related to concerns about the energy collapse that Ukraine may face in winter. At the same time, Zelensky told Axios that Trump "promised he would try to help," but the US President emphasized that this is difficult "because of the need for interceptors in the war with Iran."
Zelensky also confirmed that "one outcome of his meeting with Trump is a likely visit to Kiev by Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner and Special Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff in the next two weeks."
US President Donald Trump announced earlier that Washington would provide a license to Kiev for the production of Patriot interceptor missiles. The news agency Bloomberg reported that the process of launching the production of Patriot interceptor missiles in Ukraine would take a long time and would not allow Kiev to quickly replenish its arsenals.
