MOSCOW, October 7. /TASS/. About 223,000 Ukrainians left the country between January and June 2026, according to data from Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service obtained by TASS.
A total of about 7.130 million departures from Ukraine and about 6.907 million entries into the country were recorded in the first half of 2026.
The outflow of people from Ukraine has continued for several years, although the border remains closed to a significant portion of the population - men of conscription age. About 7-8 million people left the country in 2022, around 180,000 in 2023, 460,000 in 2024 and 302,000 in 2025. The exact number of residents remaining in Kiev-controlled territory is unknown as the last population census was conducted in 2001. Various estimates put the figure at between 20 million and 30 million people.
