A small single-engine aircraft crashed on Wednesday afternoon (29th) on the Luiz Gonzaga de Amoedo Campos highway, in the rural area of Mogi Mirim, 150 km from the state capital São Paulo.
The pilot died charred as a result of the impact and subsequent explosion. He has not yet been identified. According to local media reports, the aircraft belonged to an aviation school.
The Fire Department dispatched four vehicles to attend to the incident. An ambulance from SAMU (Mobile Emergency Care Service) also traveled to the scene, as did the Military Police.
The crash occurred in an open area in the Cachoeira neighborhood, near the city's airport.
There are still no details regarding the circumstances of the accident, but the responsible authorities will investigate whether it is related to the strong wind gusts that struck the state on Wednesday and caused at least two deaths.
Only after the investigation will CENIPA (Center for Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention) disclose the cause of the crash.
