L’eurodéputé a été largement désigné candidat de la gauche sociale-démocrate à la présidentielle, dimanche soir, avec 66 % des voix. Il devance de très loin le premier secrétaire du PS, Olivier Faure (14 %). Ségolène Royal, Jérôme Guedj et Emmanuel Maurel obtiennent tous moins de 10 % des voix.
