10 injured after bus crashes into barrier on Hong Kong road

Police say they received a report of the crash at 8.59am, adding most were hurt by a glass panel inside the bus

At least 10 people have been injured when a bus crashed into a barrier on Tuen Mun Road, prompting an emergency response.

Police said they received a report at 8.59am on Tuesday of the crash on the Kowloon-bound carriageway near the Bellagio housing estate in Sham Tseng.

Nine women and one man sustained minor injuries.

According to images widely circulating online, the vehicle was a Citybus 952P bound for Causeway Bay, with several windows and the windscreen shattered.

“Most were hurt by the glass panel inside the bus,” a spokesman for the force said, but did not specify whether it had shattered.

Two ambulances, along with police officers and firefighters, were dispatched to the scene.
